oof. acne, the bane of most of our teenage years... or so you would think.
the truth is that it's the bane of most of our teenage AND adult years. for those of you who have clear skin, please skip this blog post. :P
during the peak of my battles with acne, one takeaway I took from a makeup artist was to focus on the clear skin that I have instead of focusing on the blemishes.
it was a great self care tip too.
it's easy to focus on the blemishes or the problems we face in our lives. it feels like the sore spots stick out like a sore thumb, and we can't get away from it.
but if we redirect our thoughts to the great things that are happening in our lives, we might have a better perspective on the true size of our problems.
to bring it back to the acne analogy, sometimes it feels like your entire face or body is covered with blemishes and scars, and it can be overwhelming. but if we focus on the clear parts of our skin, we might find that we have more clear skin or healing skin than blemishes! yippee!
so go celebrate your clear skin today and love on yourself a little bit harder.
you've got this.
